For anyone thinking about it the time is at hand. Our movement pushed through Massachusetts, yeah he’s not the most libertarian Senator, but we defeated the machine in MA. We defeated the liberal pick for Senator. We defeated the winning vote for government health-care that was the goal and we obtained it.

Your State is next for the 2010 elections. http://teapartypatriots.org/ find a party near you and let the federal Government know who you are and where you stand. Now both parties are waking up! even the progressives that hide in both parties are seeing that we are a true power in the working of Government.

Are you talking about some pseudo-political subset of the conservative party being headed by Glen Beck and Sarah Palin? Because if so, you're VASTLY outnumbered, and this is still a democracy, so get used to disappointment.

why do ppl keep thinking Glenn and Palin are the heads of this.... Its just not true...they didn't start it..they don't organize it. they don't fund it. where do ppl keep this this information and would you post it so i can read it. and if your getting it from Air America (lol) i guess i am not going to hear about it.

yes it is a democracy and that's why this movement works. that election was democracy in full swing. that's why i am posting this so other that what to can have a voice.

and for a pseudo-political subset we sure did turn a lot of heads. look at how the dynamic has changed with just one small election. look at all that elected officials pointing at the tea party.

If you want to chase down a dream, best of luck. Personally, I don't see the political landscape changing in America anytime in the near future. My only source for thinking Palin/Beck have any leadership positions with this tea-party business is because those are the only two I've heard talk about it and they use language which suggests they have some vested interest. I don't really know much else, nor do I see it going very far. I'm guessing you're talking about the Massachusetts election? It was an open seat with no incumbent and virtually no campaigning time. Pretty much a toss up at that point.

Rabbid, watch this movie, its excellent, 8.2 rating on IMDB.

http://shaztastic.com/docs/Orwell%20Rolls%20in%20his%20Grave.avi

Also, the tea party thing has been highly supported by many well funded right wing groups. Even the biggest http://mediamatters.org/reports/200904080025

If you want to get pissed off at government spending, get pissed off at this:

They should change that to the Offense budget.

We are fucking war mongers. It's so sad. We could be a space faring civilization with no more war, hunger, disease and one day explore the stars and the universe together, forever. The resources are there, the know how is there, we just have to stop wasting them destroying ourselves and our pale blue dot.

"We are entering an increasingly dangerous period of our history. Our population and our use of the finite resources of planet Earth are growing exponentially, along with our technical ability to change the environment for good. But our genetic code still carries the selfish and aggressive instincts that were a survival advantage in the past. It will be difficult enough to avoid disaster in the next hundred years, let alone the next thousand or million. Our only chance of long term survival is not not to remain inward looking on planet Earth, but to spread out into space." -Stephen Hawking

i wouldn't say we are war mongers. But to maintain peace we have to prepare for war. there will always be someone or some group that wants to change who we are. Even the Democratic party think things happen at the barrel of a gun.

As a ppl we are aggressive. And that aggressive nature is a big strength. passive ppl don't explore mountains, new lands or worlds for that matter. We are a space faring race now. maybe not to the ends that we could be. We are still getting our footing so to speak.you can't think being a space faring civilization is a key to peace or a sigh of peace. when it happens it will be just like it was 250 years ago with pirates, taxes and ppl wanting to make a new home and do things their own way. And there is only one way for them to break away and do things their own way.To do that you have to be aggressaave. willing to take it.

To be free you have to be aggressive enough to take that freedom and aggressive enough to keep it. that's true here or out there.

This is the first thing you've said that has made any sense. Not that I agree 100%, but at least I can finally understand something you wrote. Congrats!

Rabbid, you mentioned that "democrats do it too" which is a pathetic excuse. It also implies you think I am of that flavor. I don't drink soda, whether its Coke or Pepsi. Either way their commercials lie to you and they are bad for your health.

Scientists constantly explore and learn new things (on tiny budgets compared to our war machine) without obliterating anyone elses homes or culture. Exploration and growth do not require the worst selfish and aggressive instincts of man. We are past that now, or at least we should be. But too many people like yourself want to cling to old thinking and behavior which is clearly unsustainable, not to mention immoral. How the fuck are we a moral nation while 60% of us are fat asses while we have children in our own country who are starving and lack basic resources? While corrupt bankers and sports athletes make millions and teachers and schools get crap? Not to mention the tremendous suffering our actions constantly cause other nations children (who then wish to grow up and kill us).

Also, the reason people associate Palin with the Tea Party is because it's obvious true.

http://crooksandliars.com/john-amato/palin-owns-teabaggers-now-attempt-meld Palin: The Republican Party would be really smart to start trying to absorb as much of the Tea Party movement as possible.
